Winter Watering

Tip #1 January 2013

This could be the single most important thing you do for your trees. Sometimes we forget that trees still need watering; even thou they’ve dropped their leaves for the year. Deep Root watering is the best way to apply water to the root zone. You can buy a deep root watering probe from your local hardware store or have TLC Tree Expert do the watering for you. Watering should be done at least once a month in the dry winters of Colorado. Never water when the temps fall below 40F, water during the mid day and water at the drip line (outer most margin of the branch structure as related to the ground). Feel free to call if you have any questions about Winter Watering.
